How does a hardy warm stew sound to you on a cold day like today? My guess is that your dogs and even your cats most likely feel the same way. (Yum!) This recipe can be doubled in size and a portion frozen for another day and will have your dogs “barking” for more!
Barking Beef Stew
2lb beef chuck (*Organic, or grass fed where available)
1 Tbsp wild caught fish oil
2 ¼ cup of stock (beef, or vegetable)- please note that stock should be made without onion or salt.
2- 3 cloves fresh pressed garlic (stimulates immune system)
1 large sweet potato (cubed)
2 medium carrots ( pulverised or thinly sliced)
1 tsp. thyme (digestive aid, antimicrobial)
1 tsp. sage (antiseptic aid against E.coli, salmonella)
Very Lightly sear or barely brown beef chuck over medium heat
Add sweet Potatoes, carrots, garlic, and fish oil to stock and simmer. Simmer/cooking time depends on if you prefer to feed more raw then cooked. Remove from heat and let cool down to room temp.Did you know, grass fed beef has 2-6 times more of Omega 3 essential fatty acid? Omega 3′s are not only good for your pets and “heart healthy”, but essential for growth, development and maintaining healthy cell function.
